Senior ISIS Member Killed in Northern Iraq

The Iraqi army has announced the death of a senior ISIS member in a coalition airstrike in northern Iraq.

AhlulBayt News Agency - The Iraqi army has announced the death of a senior ISIS member in a coalition airstrike in northern Iraq. 

Iraqi Joint Operations Command Center released a statement on Thursday to confirm that Abu Ayoub, the IS governor of northern Mosul, was killed in an US-led coalition airstrike.

According to the statement, Abu Ayoub was an Iraqi Sunni Arab from Gayara district of Nineveh province who served in the terrorist group as the governor [Wali] in northern Iraq.

Previously on Wednesday, Kurdistan Region Security Council (KRSC) announced that the coalition warplanes, in cooperation with the Kurdish counter-terrorism forces, killed the head of IS intelligence office and two other militias near Mosul.

Recently, several senior IS members, including the group’s second-in-command Haji Imam, were killed by the coalition airstrikes in Iraq and Syria.
